I started a book eons ago. It's still not finished. It never becomes my top priority, but take a look and let me know what you think. Here is the first chapter.

SEKTI
CHAPTER 1

The storm is almost over. Dark clouds still roll overhead, patches briefly illuminated by flickers of distant lightning. It seems a fitting mirror of the battle ground below. The land looks torn; small fires and brief flares from the rockets of the few remaining bands of resistance appear to echo the lightning.

The bodies of men are scattered everywhere. Most are badly charred or still burning. It seems a scene from hell. On one field lies a body which dwarfs everything around it. One wonders, could a god have fallen on this battle field of men? No, it is only a bot. An android possessed by a Sekti male to be used in combat.

At once a person is taken by the art of the machine. The scrolling of the metal invites the eye to follow it as it travels across and around the metal work. The mix of beauty and danger in it almost moves the soul. The techs who built it must have been very proud.

Quietly two men work at a door in its chest. They are salvage techs. They labor at trying to unlock some of the bot's technological secrets before the conquered family has a chance to destroy it. Families do not share technology.

Suddenly a spark jumps from the door. The two men dash to escape to no avail. An explosion suddenly rips through the darkness destroying the two men, the bot, and its secrets.
