Unemployment sucks the life right out of ya. This is my first real stretch of unemployment (I've done it before, but fresh out of college). I wake up every morning completely demotivated, tired, and just generally depressed. And boy is my wife getting sick of it. And I'm just finishing my 3rd week.

Roller features I forget who's blog I read it in, but he was discussing bloggers having a history feature: edits to a blog entry are saved, so they can be rolled back or readers can see what changes have been made. The most straight-forward approach would be to save the whole previous version of the entry into a seperate blog_history table, but this could get space intensive. Perhaps a "diff" version could be done?

Also, there has been a request on the dev list for a Roller search engine. My co-worker worked with Lucene quite a bit in this last year, perhaps he'd be willing to help implement a search engine. ( Aug 29 2002, 08:12:29 PM ) Roller Permalink [Trackback]

Yeah Twins! Last night I went to the Twins game with my brother and my 2 step-brothers (visiting from out of town). Had a good time, and the Twins beat the Mariners 2-1. This was only the second Twins game I'd been to in my life. Don't know why everyone complains about the Metrodome, seems like a good place to see a game to me. More Roller stuff
Wonder how much work it would take to add a Public/Private flag to the website, and/or to individual blogentries. My Mom would like to have a "journal" but she's concerned about privacy. So far I don't have any good options for her.

Something I've done before is actually set up a 3-way option:
Public: anyone can view it
Protected: visitor must enter a password to view protected entries (it remembers it for the whole visit)

I forgot to include my HoneyPot project. It's long past time I made a nice page for this and packaged it for download. Of course, I've been waiting for myself to get around to making it "real", by logging violators to a database and creating an admin interface (to forgive violators)...

Theme trouble? I fixed a problem I found in the x2 theme (it has a > immediately after the top head), and tried to change the Bookmarks shown on the right column. But my changes have yet to show up, and I've disabled caching...

I've even copy-pasted a whole new theme (the currency one) instead, but that change has yet to show up as well.
